ST2132: Mathematical Statistics
What did I learn?
Basically a continuation from ST2131 (which I found very difficult). Firstly, we learnt new distributions like chi-squares, f-distribution. We then went on to estimations and simulations (Moments, Loglikelihood, Monte Carlo, Fisher Information). We then went on to Hypo Testing. I think there are some I missed out but that’s fairly what my batch focused on
Difficulty? (1-very easy, 5-very difficult)
3. Many said it was difficult and the hardest to understand however, I beg to differ. I found this module much more enlightening compared to ST2131 where that module just focused on the proofs (no wonder the MA prefix to it as well). This was more application based. I liked the topics taught and I understood this module compared to Probability.
Lecture
Prof Ching Way hadn’t taught the module for 2 years. He is an adequate lecturer, although he is very good in proofs and elaboration. I’ve stopped attending his lecture and watch the webcasts because Continue reading “2017-2018 Year 2 Semester 1”
